Surrounded by beautiful gardens, Shiramizu Amidado Temple is the oldest building in Iwaki and is a national treasure.  It was built in 1160 on the orders of Tokuhime.  She was the widow of Norimichi Iwaki, a feudal lord of the area towards the end of the Heian Period.
